Hamilton Parks Clean-Up

Hamilton is home to countless natural parks and beautiful landscapes. Community groups across the city volunteer their time to take care of the parks within the city, and volunteers are always appreciated.

Our goal is to instill this desire to lend a helping hand to these communities in order to continue keeping these parks beautiful and free for all of us to enjoy. We recognize that keeping our land clean is a responsibility each of us holds, and we would love to add to the efforts of those, like Beautiful Alleys, who devote their time to doing just that.

Beautiful Alleys is a group of volunteers working to improve Hamilton’s alleys and neighbourhoods. They have adopted many alleyways and continue to educate their volunteers on the safe disposal of litter. Each year, Beautiful Alleys hosts two clean-up events.

Inspired by Beautiful Alleys’ dedication, The Backyard Movement has decided to host a litter clean-up event.

On July 10th, several small, COVID-safe groups will coordinate to clean up pre-determined areas within Hamilton.

• At noon, each group will get their water bottles filled (bring a bottle) and be outfitted with gloves, grabbers, Sharps containers, and orange bags.

• Each group will then travel to their respective areas to start collecting litter.

• Once everybody has finished with their areas and properly disposed of their bags, we will meet back at the central location to sanitize and enjoy food and refreshments!
